Care & Warranty
Bradfords guarantees to repair or replace any product with a manufacturing or material defect for a period of two years from date of purchase. This is provided that the defect is not a result of normal wear and tear, or a natural characteristic of the material used. The warranty does not cover products used for commercial purposes. Your furniture must be cared for in accordance with the care instructions supplied.
Please note there is a 5 year structural warranty and a 3 year leather and foam warranty on Saporini product. All other Bradfords furniture, including sofabeds and extension table mechanisms, are covered by a two year warranty.
Fabrics supplied by the customer are not included in this warranty. This warranty is in addition to the rights granted by the Consumer Guarantees and Fair Trading Act 1993.

Care & Maintenance
Bradfords Interiors takes great care to source high quality furniture. Just a little care and attention is needed to keep them looking their best.
When choosing your furniture, please be aware of the environment it will be used in. Sunlight, heat sources, pets, humidity, etc. can all affect the performance and longevity of furniture. Selecting the right materials for the right setting will ensure yours is up to the challenge.

Common sense goes a long way. Lift furniture, don’t drag it. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure. Don’t sit on the arms or back of lounge suites or tip back on dining chairs. Use floor protectors on the underneath of furniture (e.g. tables and chairs) to minimise floor marking. Use coasters and placemats to protect surfaces from heat and moisture.
Dyes that make strong colours in clothing can transfer to upholstery. This process can be aided greatly by even small amounts of moisture – perspiration, dampness from rain, etc. New jeans are particularly prone to this. Both fabric and leather will show these dyes – paler colours more so, so take care.
Wipe over leather with a clean damp cloth on a weekly basis to remove particles and dust that can work into the hide and abrade the surface. Regular cleaning will prevent dust and dirt becoming ingrained and prevent the build up of dye transfer (e.g. indigo from jeans , newsprint etc.). Pay particular attention to areas where people’s skin and hair comes into contact with the leather as perspiration can cause a reaction with the hide.
Some medications and cancer treatments can cause damage to leather through perspiration. Some medications specify this; if unsure consult your health care professional. Chemicals and oils, including hairspray and hair products, can also cause damage to leather. Avoid spraying household cleaners near leather. It is highly recommended you do not let your pets on leather lounge suites. Damage caused by pets will invalidate your warranty.
Use of proprietary leather cleaner and conditioners according to instructions is recommended.
Wipe up any spills and stains immediately and clean with a cloth dampened with a proprietary leather cleaner. Avoid using excess liquid as it can carry the stain and soak into the leather. Always test a specific leather cleaner on an inconspicuous area first. Seek professional help straight away for spills and marks that do not come out. Please contact a specialist leather cleaner for professional cleaning.
Avoid placing your suite in direct sunlight or close to heat sources as this can fade and dry out the leather, causing it to crack or rapidly deteriorate.
Leather is a natural material and you may notice minor scratches, creases, insect bites or scarring that are characteristics of quality full grain leather. Leather lounge suites will soften and loosen over time and develop ‘comfort creases’. This is considered normal.
Vacuum fabrics on a weekly basis using a soft brush nozzle to remove dust and dirt that can act as abrasives on the fabric fibres. Treat spills and stains as soon as possible and follow the upholstery care instructions label attached to the furniture. Contact a specialist fabric cleaner for professional cleaning when needed.
Protect fabric from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading.
Wipe down surfaces regularly with a damp clean cloth and vacuum creases and seams to remove accumulated dust and dirt. Wipe up spills immediately and clean with a damp cloth before towelling dry. Regenerated leather is sensitive to moisture damage. Do not leave wet or damp items on regenerated leather furniture or use soap or abrasive cleaners.
Polyurethane (PU) Fabric
As with fabric and leather dust PU regularly with a soft cloth. Wipe up spills immediately by blotting with a cloth. If needed dampen a cloth with a weak solution of mild soap, liquid hand wash or fabric soap. Wipe down the surface and then dry. DO NOT use detergent or other cleaners. Protect from sunlight and direct heat sources.
Where possible rotate and plump loose fill cushions (fibre fill, kapok, down foam chip etc.) regularly for even wear. It is normal for cushion fillings to settle and seat foams to soften over time. Loose covers are designed for a relaxed look and feel, and therefore it is natural for there to be some movement. Scatter cushion inserts can be invigorated by laying them out in the sun to air. Down filled cushions have specialised fabrics to contain the feathers but occasionally feather quills can pierce through the covers. They can be removed by simply pulling the feather out.
Regularly wipe down timber with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt and towel dry. Oils or other polishes are not recommended on polyurethane finished timber. Do not wet down or leave spills to sit on timber surfaces. Avoid contact with liquids and heat. Abrasive cleaning products are not recommended. Keep out of direct or reflective sunlight. If furniture is in direct sunlight timber will gradually change colour; move items like vases around to prevent marks developing.
Wipe up spills with a damp cloth straight away; remove streak marks with glass cleaner and a cloth. When cleaning make sure to use a non-abrasive cloth. Do not rub at the surface as this can cause scratching. Use a good quality automotive polish to remove fine scratches as you would on a vehicle.
Regularly wipe metal with a soft clean cloth to remove particles which can abrade the surface with wear. Dust particles can also hold moisture which in turn can denigrate the surface. Avoid contact with liquid, heat and direct sunlight.
Chrome and stainless steel may be cleaned with a dedicated metal product.
Painted metal surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth. Aggressive cleaning products can damage the paint surface. Abrasive cleaning products are not recommended.
Marble / Stone
All Bradfords marble and other stone is sealed with a polyester lacquer that protects the porous surface from spills. It is an extremely hard, durable finish that is guaranteed stain resistant. Any spills should be wiped away with a damp cloth and dried. For general cleaning use warm soapy water or a damp cloth over the entire surface and towel dry. Avoid using anything abrasive. The polyester lacquer cannot withstand humidity or heat. Use a coaster or mat for hot objects and do not leave damp objects to sit on the marble for periods of time. Take care with vases etc. that they are not damp underneath as prolonged moisture will cause clouding in the lacquer. Using a coaster is recommended.
Satin Finish (eg Travertine) – Do not rub the table in one spot or use polish, as persistent rubbing will create a glossy patch.
Gloss Finish (eg Beige Corallo, Nero) – Minor scratches can be eliminated by polishing with a quality automotive or similar fine polish.
Marble and other stone is particularly vulnerable in transit and must be handled like glass. Stand tops on their side in transit and when carrying. Do not have an excess bulk of blankets behind tops as the marble will not bend. Strap diagonally. Do not drop or shock.
For longevity please keep furniture in covered outdoor areas away from direct sunlight or harsh weather conditions when not in use for extended periods. Timber, steel and leather finishes will naturally change colour with age in an outdoor setting. For timber products re-apply a UV-stable exterior grade oil (eg decking oil) every 6 months. Polypropylene, Polyester, man-made wickers and aluminium can be washed down with warm soapy water twice a year.
Let cloth furniture dry before folding. Don’t leave outdoor cushions outside in heavy rain. Refer to care labels for more information.
Furniture made out of a range of plastics can be cleaned with warm soapy water and a cloth. Avoid anything abrasive that may scratch the surface. Never use products containing acetone, ammonia, chlorine or any type of solvent. Propropylene can be used outside; Higlop and Polycarbonate will craze and are only suitable for indoor use.
Rugs and Floor Coverings
Check the care instructions for your particular rug or floor covering.
In general use an underlay to prevent slipping and vacuum weekly. Wool may shed excess pile at first. This is normal and should settle down. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Use of flat coasters will help spread the weight of furniture and minimise indents.
Wicker and Cane
Vacuum regularly using a soft brush attachment. Wipe down with a dampened soft cloth weekly.
